BREAKING: A federal court has DENIED the Trump Administration’s request for a Temporary Restraining Order seeking to segregate and exclude over 20,000 CA ballots saying: “This case is about the right of every American citizen to vote in a free and fair election. Never before in American history has the federal government, on the eve of an election, sought to coerce a state and local government to abandon their own Constitutional elections procedures and bend to the will of the Executive Branch. In bringing this lawsuit, the Executive would have this Court believe that it reigns as a sole sovereign. But California and its people are sovereign, too….Every generation in our history has witnessed repeated clashes between those who seek to limit access to the ballot and those who fight to ensure it…This request violates longstanding constitutional principles mandating that states have control over their elections…Over 20,000 registered Californians would potentially lose the right that generations of Americans have fought to preserve….”

Republicans voted to cut health care by a trillion dollars while INCREASING funding for ICE. They're choosing cruelty, fear, and family separation over our health. California won’t stand for it. Vote to protect our health care and our neighbors. protectourcare.org/fact-chec…

The guy who's bankrupting Americans is calling you too broke to dine with him.
Trump's affordability message: "You could even come to Mar-a-Lago. You'll be my guest. The problem is that for $5,000 the most you'll be able to buy is a hamburger and maybe a small dessert. I'm not even sure you could buy that! No, don't go there. It's not a good place if you're price conscious."

When a reporter is denied access to the White House, it isn't just that news organization that suffers. The American people rely on a free press to know what their government is up to, and whether it is acting wisely and lawfully. With each step that this administration takes to reduce press access, it becomes harder to know who has the ear of the president, how our tax dollars are being spent, and who is engaged in corruption.

A champion of working Californians and the Latino community for over half a century. A fighter for fair wages, for civil rights and for a seat at the tables of power. There will never be another like Dolores Huerta. latimes.com/politics/story/2…

Dolores Huerta was a truly inspiring figure in the American labor movement who dedicated her life to advocating for working people and fighting for a better future. I was fortunate to get to know her and see firsthand her passion, sharp mind, and unwavering commitment to making a difference. Her legacy of advocacy and service will continue to inspire generations to come, and I join the entire world in mourning her passing.

Make sure your vote counts! Drop your ballot at an official drop box or vote in person by 8 pm on Election Day, November 3. Dolores Huerta was a hero of mine. When she co-founded the National Farm Workers Association in 1962, people thought Dolores was crazy. “How are you going to organize farm workers,” she remembered being asked. "They are poor, powerless immigrants.” But that’s exactly what she did, helping thousands of migrant laborers working in brutal conditions make their voices heard, and demand something better. Dolores spent the rest of her life fighting for marginalized communities, even as she herself faced sexism and abuse — including, as she revealed earlier this year, from Cesar Chavez and others within her own movement. She also came up with a pretty good slogan, “Si, se puede” — Yes, we can — that I too often get credit for. But as usual, Dolores got there first. Michelle and I are thinking of Dolores’s family, the people whose lives she changed, and everyone who drew inspiration from her example. Photo credit: National Archives, Obama Presidential Library

“California Democrats mourn the loss of a giant today. Dolores Huerta was a force of nature who dedicated her life to empowering and uplifting others. Even in the darkest of times, her voice and her life will forever be an example of what it means to never give up and never give in. We honor her legacy by continuing her life’s work of standing up for working people and against injustice at every turn. Rest in power, Dolores. ¡Sí se puede!” - Chair Rusty Hicks

Dolores Huerta was a living legend who devoted her life to making the American Dream possible for so many in this country. Her incredible and courageous work on behalf of workers, immigrants, and women transformed the labor movement and gave new voice to survivors of sexual assault, while inspiring generations of Americans, including me, to fight for an America that delivered on its promise of liberty and justice FOR ALL.   It was such an incredible honor to be able to speak with her and occasionally work with her over the past few years.   Rest in power, Dolores. Si se puede!
