In a randomized trial involving adults who received local antibiotics during surgery for orthopedic infection, a short duration of systemic antibiotics was noninferior to a long duration regarding treatment failure at 12 months. Full SOLARIO trial results: nej.md/4dgrqwY
ALT This image shows a forest plot showing the robustness of the primary analysis results. Subgroups include definite treatment failure, definite or probable treatment failure, and definite, probable, or possible treatment failure. Hazard ratios with 95% confidence intervals are displayed, indicating whether a short duration is better than a long duration. A red line indicates the noninferiority margin.
Chronic aspergillosis sometimes occurs alongside other long-term lung conditions and infections
If you are affected by NTM (non-tuberculous Mycobacterium) and/or bronchiectasis, you can find out more with this online event aimed at patients and their families

🆕⚡🟢Pharmacokinetic and pharmacogenomic predictors of hepatotoxicity in the HIRIF trial for drug-susceptible tuberculosis
Higher pyrazinamide and isoniazid exposures and slow NAT2 acetylator status were independently associated with hepatotoxicity.
In multivariable analysis, only pyrazinamide exposure was associated with hepatotoxicity. Rifampicin exposure up to 20 mg/kg/day was not associated with hepatotoxicity, supporting its safe use. #IDXpostsacademic.oup.com/cid/article…
