I've never seen a league prepare everyone for losing more than the SEC this year. The Big Ten has played 9 since 2017. The Big 12 since 2011. The PAC 12 did it and was the reason they got screwed every year in the CFP era.
There is no doubt a 9-3 team will get in but the nonstop whining about it is ridiculous

Thankfully we see G6 coaches admitting what we know is best for them - their own playoff. As a competitor I would rather compete in a real championship that I could actually win than get your butt kicked annually by programs that have 10x the payroll.

I know Philip Rivers hasn't coached in college. But I think he makes a ton of sense for NC State. He has built up a winning program in high school. He would wake up potential donors. It insures you keep his son there and could build on for multiple years. The dude is a winner.

If I'm Baylor, my first phone call is Jeff Traylor. He's 58-27 at UTSA, he's 7-1 right now, and he's taken that program to six straight bowl games. Helped UTSA jump from CUSA to American. Coached in Texas almost his whole career including high school. He'd be a perfect fit
