ALT Beware of fraud and scams. After a disaster, scam artists often attempt to take advantage of disaster survivors. We encourage survivors to watch for and report any suspicious activity to StopFEMAFraud@fema.dhs.gov.
Arizona: @NWS predicts that severe storms will impact most of the state through this evening, bringing risks of hazards like tornadoes and hail. When thunder roars, go indoors! The safest place to be during severe weather is inside and away from windows.
A rare risk for tornadoes and severe weather exists across both the Desert Southwest and the Southern California Coastline today. Ensure you have multiple ways to receive weather alerts and warnings!

A presidentially approved emergency declaration authorizes FEMA to provide immediate assistance to support state, territory and Tribal Nation governments as they save lives, protect property and infrastructure, and respond to immediate needs.
Once an emergency declaration is approved, FEMA works with states and tribes to provide requested emergency assistance and assess damage. Damage assessments may inform a request for a major disaster declaration.
