Getting started on the project #1 of my
#ProjectForward, Come to Saipan.
In April 2026, Super Typhoon Sinlaku hit Saipan as a Category 4-equivalent storm after peaking at 185 mph. More than 1,500 homes were destroyed, the island lost power and water, and damage in the Northern Marianas topped $1 billion.
Saipan is recovering. Water is back. About 91% of power accounts are on. Ports are open, and daily life is returning, even as some homes are still being rebuilt.
The students who are building this website wants to show that Saipan is not stuck in the storm. People are rebuilding, school and community life are moving again, and attention still helps. We made this so more people see the recovery, not just the disaster.
