Possibly the biggest thing to ever happen to the grassroots music sector. This will save hundreds of venues across the country and keep access to live music alive for everyone for generations to come
The Government has responded to our report on grassroots music venues.
We will keep banging the drum to ensure the industry and Government protect our live music ecosystem.

Going through the detail of the budget, it is clear that @RachelReevesMP has taken various steps to try to create a relatively budget neutral situation for small businesses. This macro position is sensible and fair, but has unfortunately missed a micro issue on Rate Relief 🧵 👇

£1 on arena shows to go directly to GMVs - the R&D of the whole industry - is a lot less than all the fake fees currently added on to the bottom line, which the artist never sees.

Huge thanks to @Gigantic for their much needed support. We are dealing with a record number of cases of venues facing closure, these vital funds help us to offer them the support they need.
NEWS: We're thrilled to be supporting the Music Venue Trust (@musicvenuetrust) throughout September by adding donation options to all transactions on gigantic.com, as well as our own contribution. 🧡

This is desperately required. As are responses to all the other recommendations in the excellent Select Committee Report.
Especially the fact that these Oasis shows have contributed nothing at all to the grassroots sector economy.
