Some moments are bigger than words.
Today, Moeller President Jason Niehaus ’93 and I had the privilege of surprising a very special Man of Moeller, Dick Wagner ‘65, with a visit he won’t soon forget.
Dick, a dedicated member of the Moeller Alumni Committee, was classmates with Jason’s father, Bob. The two shared a wonderful friendship over the years until Bob’s passing in 2022. Their friendship is a special part of the Moeller family story.
Dick is now facing the fight of his life as he battles brain cancer. But if you know Dick, you know his love for cars. He has always wanted to see Jason’s 1967 Chevy Camaro, so today we decided to make that happen.
We surprised Dick at his care facility with Jason’s beautiful ’67 Camaro. The smile on Dick’s face said it all. For a few moments, we were able to bring a little joy, a few memories and something special to a man who has given so much to the Moeller family.
It’s a reminder that sometimes the greatest gifts aren’t things. They’re moments, friendships and simply showing up for one another.
Please keep Dick, his family and his entire care team in your thoughts and prayers as he continues this incredibly difficult fight.
