Wild situation 10 days ahead of the election. While everyone is saying "don't vote for Nithya cuz she's DSA", the DSA is rescinding their endorsement of Nithya Raman and kicking her out of DSA altogether. Meanwhile, all of the DSA council members have endorsed Karen Bass... So...who, exactly is the DSA candidate here?
NEW: DSA's National Political Committee passed two resolutions tonight regarding Los Angeles mayoral candidate Nithya Raman, setting up processes to potentially force DSA's Los Angeles chapter to rescind its endorsement of her campaign and/or expel her from DSA. Here are copies of the 2 resolutions that passed: Rescinding endorsement: docs.google.com/document/d/1… Expulsion: docs.google.com/document/d/1…

Watch out Santa Barbara! The storm is coming in with a fury. Rain rates as high as 0.80 per hour have been reported. Please drive safely and consider delaying travel if at all possible. #CAwx #SBrain

It went from quiet to BOOM. The rain from today's storm didn't gradually start, it was very intense from the arrival, loaded with power, lightning and thunder in the first few minutes over Santa Barbara. If you haven't seen the rain yet, that is your preview.

Just a head's up, it's 35 years, to the day, after the Oakland Hills Fire, which was one of the worst in history. It's worth remembering that prior to that October fire, 1991 was a very slow fire season, just like this year. All it takes is one nasty wind event.
BREAKING: Firefighters from multiple agencies are battling a 2- to 3-acre vegetation fire on top of Panoramic Hill in Berkeley, authorities said Tuesday. MORE: berkeleyscanner.com/2026/10/…

If they were to underground the lines or simply clear brush underneath the power lines, they'd never have to shut down the power. But they refuse to do that, so this is the only safe option left in Gavin's California.
In California, utility companies — NOT the Governor — decide when to implement Public Safety Power Shutoffs to PREVENT power lines from sparking wildfires during dangerous weather conditions. That's precisely the risk Southern California is facing right now. These shutoffs are inconvenient, but they are utility SAFETY decisions, not orders from the Governor!

The Bryson fire started on and is currently burning on the SRA (State Responsibility Area) just like the Palisades Fire. Zero fire breaks and fuel modification zones thanks to Gavin Newsom’s CA State Parks. Are you paying attention yet? @spencerpratt @Hotshot_Movie

Wind gusts overnight of 50-60 mph are going to be problematic. Ember cast may cause the fire to spot outside of any control lines. Expanded evacuation orders being issued now.
Evacuation orders in effect for the #Brysonfire, stay safe everyone! Winds are forecast to increase overnight with gusts 50-60 mph possible. #CAfire

I know this area very well. Lots of clients who lost their homes in the Woolsey Fire there. Very steep terrain. Hand work by crews and rotorcraft work only in that terrain. This fire has lots of room to chew throflugh heavy fuels before reaching the coast.

Areas currently being considered for a LIKELY PSPS include: - Old Agoura and portions of the Cheeseboro Canyon vicinity - Eastern Agoura Hills, including areas near Agoura Road and the surrounding hillside neighborhoods - Colodny Drive and nearby residential areas - Lake Vista Drive and the Medea Creek vicinity - Liberty Canyon and surrounding open-space areas - Triunfo Canyon and portions of the unincorporated Santa Monica Mountains and surrounding areas of Los Angeles County Confirmed PSPS areas include: - Portions of eastern Agoura Hills near Agoura Road and the surrounding hillside areas - Areas near the eastern city limits and adjacent open-space areas - Portions of the Seminole Hot Springs vicinity and surrounding unincorporated areas Please refer to the accompanying map for a general reference of the affected areas: 🟠 Orange-shaded areas indicate locations where a PSPS is likely to occur soon. ⚫ Black diagonal-hatched areas indicate locations where a PSPS has been confirmed. These areas may include locations both within and outside Agoura Hills city limits. Boundaries are approximate and may change as SCE updates its assessments. 🗺️ Check your address: Visit sce.com/psps and use SCE’s address lookup tool to determine whether your property may be affected. 📱 Direct notifications: SCE will notify customers who may be affected, including Critical Care and Medical Baseline customers. 🚨 Power restoration: Once weather conditions improve and restoration is authorized, SCE crews will inspect power lines, make any necessary repairs, and work to restore power safely. 🔋 Be prepared: Residents in potentially affected areas should prepare for a temporary power outage and review their emergency plans. For the latest information and preparedness resources, visit sce.com/psps. Thank you for your understanding as we monitor this situation.
