AAPD is so proud of our Summer Internship Program alumnus, D'Arcee Charington Neal, for his role in the upcoming film Being Heumann! D'Arcee plays Ron Washington, who was one of the organizers of the Section 504 Sit-Ins of 1977. The sit-in, the longest occupation of any federal building in U.S. history, resulted in the passage of the Section 504 disability nondiscrimination regulations.
Being Heumann recently premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), pictured here with the entire cast. Learn more about Ron's advocacy and witness D'Arcee's performance when Being Heumann premieres in select theaters on November 6 and on Apple TV on November 13. Congratulations to D'Arcee, incredible Academy Award-winning director of CODA Siân Heder, and to the Being Heumann team!
