Want to hear from the team about what we did during this project? Here's our film made with support of @BasAphasia seed funding piped.video/EmkSGKz7mDE
Firle Beckley, a speech and language therapist and PhD student based at UCL, has been instrumental in setting up the Art of Conversation with Aphasia, a new eight-week creative wellbeing course for people with #aphasia.

Yesterday we talked about outcomes using @padlet to show everyone what #slt2b @fien_bn & @amysherms have measured before & after the course - #aphasia, conversations, wellbeing & "flow"=being 'in the zone' while doing an activity. @SayAphasia@dlwp@UCLEnterprise @UCLLangCog
The #ArtofConversationwithAphasia course may be over but the design team are hard at work evaluating outcomes. This week we are going to plan our strategy - what to report to which stakeholders and how to make it accessible 📊🖱️🎥 🤓 @dlwp@SayAphasia@UCLEnterprise @UCLLangCog
Covid moved ACA online, instead of @dlwp as planned, but we've enjoyed artworks from their exhibitions at home. We watched @zadiexa 's film 'Child of Magohalmi and the Echoes of Creation' (on @dlwp YouTube). Here's what we thought!
#artinconversation#artworksonline#artathome
#TheArtofConversationwithAphasia session 3 explored 'when things go wrong' in conversation + upcoming exhibition @dlwp All in the Same Storm. In response to @Hastings_Buddy Pandemic Patchwork we made collages about our #livesinlockdown - this collage by group member Steve
#TheArtofConversationwithAphasia session 2: we explored turns in conversation & the jobs they do - giving an opinion, starting a topic, asking a question - & thought abt the turns we use. We also got creative with Annotate in Zoom! Turns are branches of the conversation tree 😀
#TheArtofConversationwithAphasia session 1 in action - we shared an object to tell something about ourselves & discussed 'What is conversation?' Before session 2, we will watch a video of a current exhibition at the @dlwp, narrated by @Nikki_Hafter & Ashley McCormick 😍 @FirleB
It's the eve of ACA session 1 - putting final touches to @Mentimeter online feedback form for participants w #aphasia. Choosing pictures to convey feeling confident, proud, and to ask if the session held people's attention has been a challenge! Got there in the end... @FirleB
