What is #ARRAKIHS?
🟣ARRAKIHS is the first @esa's Science Programme mission led from Spain, specifically from @IFCA_CSIC_UC
🔍Focus on imaging faint galaxies nearby, ARRAKIHS aims to provide crucial measurements for testing open questions in cosmology. 🌌

It's almost Dark Matter Day!
To celebrate, we're sharing three facts about one of the biggest mysteries in the Universe. How much do we really know about dark matter?🤔
Happy #DarkMatterDay ! 🌌
ALT Scientist vs Dark Matter: Scientists have gathered strong evidence for dark matter through its gravitational effects, but its fundamental nature remains unknown.
ALT Ordinary matter vs Dark Matter: Dark matter makes up around 84% of all the matter in the Universe, while ordinary matter (the matter that we know, that makes up stars, planets, gas and everything around us) accounts for only about 16%.
ALT Stars in Galaxies vs Dark Matter: Stars and gas in galaxies move under the influence of gravity. We need dark matter to explain how galaxies rotate and evolve.

How do we prepare a space mission before it observes the Universe? 🤔
With simulations.
ARTEMIS simulations + machine learning help predict the properties of faint galaxy halos, preparing us for future ARRAKIHS observations 🌌
