Recruits - 1 month until the season kicks off here's what can you do for your game and your recruitment.
Truth is you can do very little but the little you *CAN* do is very important.
*You can't add a new go to move, you can't tweak and rebuild your shot, you can't put on 20 lbs of muscle or add 6" of vertical.
What can you do?
⬇️⬇️⬇️
THING 1
1. Hit conditioning hard now so you're not gasping for air when coach is trying to teach you the first 2 weeks
How? Add in 3 runs a week:
Day 1: sprints + walk and recover do something like 6 x 200 meters give yourself time to catch your breath we want to hit top speed
Day 2: mid distance - 3 x 400 meters walk 2 mins in between. Should be fast but not destroying yourself
Day 3: 3-4 miles boring jog pace. Barely a run
Always warm up dynamically before and cool down correctly after. Avoid injuries at all cost. Don't over extend.
THING 2
2. Get shots up - layups both hands, catch and shoot 3s, middies, work on passing chest and bounce passes with both hands and free throws.
Rep what you do during games so it feels familiar when practices start
THING 3
3. Get your list together for who you want to contact this year.
Get organized.
2027s need to go deep you have a tough placement year. Get your list to 100 schools across divisions.
2028s start your list. Research 5 schools a week and prepare to send the coaches messages as soon as you have film
Both grades if you have film from the summer send it and follow up with 1st half season film before Thanksgiving break.
In your message, always state your interest in the school beyond you playing basketball for them.
The more you prepare now the better able you will be to execute a contact plan in the busy season.
Go be great! Let us know if you need help
