I began to paint in March ‘20. Through trial and error and being a harsh self-critic, I’ve developed my skills. I paint for me! Painting is my release - I work quickly and instinctively, loving what colour can do and the freedom I feel as I push paint around the paper. 🎨
Back to the oil pastels this morning to capture the Robin - one of a pair eating my grass seed, which is clearly far more tasty than all the juicy berries and insects out there! 🤷♀️
There was one, all on its own!
I have always found poppies tricky to paint! It’s the contrast between their fragility and their bold colour.
Feeling reasonably happy with this!
This morning I decided that in order to maximise the chill factor, I would light a candle as I paint. Big mistake! I set fire to my painting rag and now the room smells of smoke. 💨 🫣 😃
Thanks to @CarlBovisNature for the 📷of the probably jeuvenile Magpie!
And that’s a wrap!
A summer of watercolour - can you spot this morning’s sketch? Thanks to @fo5tered for the 📷.
Thanks also to everyone who has kindly bought something - link in the bio!
