The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) helps set the global standards for the crop protection, fertilizer, and seed tools that ag retailers deliver to growers, and those standards shape what our growers can sell overseas. Having the right representation is critical, and we urge the Administration to nominate Beth Bechdol to lead the FAO.

Recently, ARA staff had a great visit to the Evelyn Brandt Thomas Ag Innovation Center at the @BRANDT_co Research Farm in Pleasant Plains, Illinois!
Opened in 2024 and named for BRANDT co-founder Evelyn Brandt Thomas, this 17,500-square-foot facility is BRANDT's hub for research, development, and collaboration. The ARA team got an inside look at their Discovery & Innovation work, product testing, and field trials. ARA team members also visited the agricultural museum, which showcases BRANDT's history and its contributions to the state of Illinois.
A big thank you to the entire BRANDT team for hosting us, and for all you do for agricultural retail!

President Trump's recent Executive Order provides welcome and immediate relief for farmers and agricultural retailers facing high diesel costs during one of the most fuel-intensive periods of the year. While temporary flexibility can help reduce costs at the pump, America cannot waive its way to long-term energy affordability. Lasting solutions require expanding refining capacity, reforming permitting processes, eliminating the Jones Act, increasing domestic energy production, unimpeded global trade, and supporting renewable fuel growth, including biodiesel and renewable diesel. ARA urges federal and state policymakers to build on this action with comprehensive measures that strengthen fuel supply, improve transportation reliability, and enhance America's energy security.
