I know that as a progressive I'm supposed to not like Pete because he's a careerist hack, but he's clearly very intelligent and he's pretty progressive. He'd make a very good president and I vastly prefer him to Harris or Newsom.
Florida Republican U.S. Senate candidate Ashley Moody on Trump talking about Nicki Minaj's "asset": Maybe I should be upset he didn't talk about my "asset."
Fully seriously, not in a libbed-up "everything is Trump's fault" way, I don't think I'll be able to afford to buy my family any Christmas presents this year.
And it's because the cost of living has shot up so much because of Trump's tariffs and war in Iran.
The wave of retirements plus the blue wave is going to wildly reshape Congress. In my predictions, there will be 17 freshmen in the Senate and 96(!!) in the House. That's a full 22% of the House!
Funny that Vance's seat is likely to flip, but everybody thought Ohio was so far gone that it wasn't even really talked about when Trump tapped him for VP
Some races here in WV I'll be watching Tuesday:
SD1 (Wheeling-Weirton): Sen. Laura Chapman (R) vs. Del. Shawn Fluharty (D)
SD5 (Huntington): Huntington City Councilor DuRon Jackson (D) vs. 2024 gov candidate Chris Miller (R)
...
SD8 (Charleston): Lance Wheeler (R) vs. Kim Hundley (D)
SD13 (Morgantown-Fairmont): Sen. Mike Oliverio (R) vs. Del. John Williams (D)
SD17 (South Charleston): Sen. Tom Takubo (R) vs. 2024 Indie U.S. House candidate Wes Holden (D)
Totally forgot about this lol. A strip of rural Fayette County is likely to be represented by a Democrat in the HoD because Republicans put up a child predator.
West Virginia's #HD50 was completely upended when the Republican incumbent was arrested for being a pedo on Roblox.
He withdrew and now the Democratic candidate is facing a Constitution Party candidate, an Independent, and three write-in candidates!
SLEW RATING: Lean D (FLIP)
In a doctor's office and I overhear a guy talking about how much he just paid for heating oil, and that they'll have to turn the thermostat down a couple degrees this winter to save money. This is what people are thinking about when they vote. This is why Republicans will lose.
I have a Prediction for Political Science class and we have a discussion post for Senate predictions and some of these are...oh boy.
Keep in mind these people are largely political science majors. Yikes.
I think the ass thing may actually notably help Sherrod Brown because Husted has been reduced to a complete joke for the last two weeks of the campaign
Honestly I think education is one of those issues where going more left-wing is more popular. People love pouring money into public schools and generally don't like government funding for private schools.
Really wild that the longest Democratic gubernatorial streak in the country is held by Oregon, which also has one of the most consistent Democratic gubernatorial underperformances.
馃毃 Republican Former US Senator Sheila Frahm endorses Adam Hamilton.
Sen. Frahm joins Republican former governors Bill Graves and Mike Hayden supporting Adam's campaign.
Despite the race evidently becoming a tossup in the last month, Kansas's other Republican senator, Jerry Moran, who is more moderate than Marshall, has not endorsed him.
