DESIGN BY CONTACT used hoare triplets to break down object oriented programs into analyzable parts. The biggest advocate was Bertrand Meyer in his Eiffel language. Note the "required" and "ensure".

Signal analyzes Cellebrite software: "By a truly unbelievable coincidence, I was recently out for a walk when I saw a small package fall off a truck ahead of me. As I got closer, the dull enterprise typeface slowly came into focus: Cellebrite." 🤣 signal.org/blog/cellebrite-v…

But the attack requires your phone number. Where should an attacker possibly get that from? 🤔😁

Cool. If you do that, then I'd be interested to hear about the result!

Moving on to the next project. Whatever that might be. Perhaps rewriting the formal methods class assignments I completed a while back from #Daphny to #SPARK.

Just read an argument that C code can be secure because seL4 is secure. Reminder: seL4 was first written and proved in Isabelle/HOL, then translated to Haskell and proven correct again, then translated to C and proven correct AGAIN. 9,000 lines of C in just 12 worker-years.

With all the issues with WhatsApp it's sad to see that so many people choose to move from one unfree and closed ecosystem to another while there are more open and secure alternatives like @matrixdotorg

We're very excited (and a little bit nervous :D) that @FOSDEM is planning to go virtual this year via Matrix for chat/community, using @jitsinews for the video conferencing. Read all about it (and how you might be able to help!): matrix.org/blog/2021/01/04/t…

The latest beta releases of Signal for Android and iOS let you put a pin in PINs and disable them completely. This option is for advanced users who don’t want to lose their ability to lose everything.
