Boca ↔️ Citi Field
Jumped down a Baseball Reference rabbit hole and decided to quiz Howie on something. I was expecting him to say no. And this is why he’s the 🐐.

We don’t know when baseball is coming back after this World Series. Give us at least 2 18-inning games this year.

The most frustrating thing about the Dodgers getting swept is that it debunks every hopeful conspiracy theory I’d concocted in my mind to prevent any lockout.

Like there was no secret fix before the season that it was just predetermined LA. The Mets REALLY did just have that bad of a season.

My Mom would have been 102 years old today. She gave me the greatest gift a parent could provide-unwavering confidence and the belief that her kids could accomplish whatever they put their minds to as long as they were willing to put in the necessary work. She made enormous sacrifices for her family which can never be repaid. Happy Birthday, Mom. I love you.

If we're talking choose your own opponent, don't lock out the season, lock out the sport
Major League Baseball proposed cutting the regular-season schedule from 162 games to 154 games in a bargaining session with the MLBPA today. Also part of its proposal: higher seeds in playoffs get to choose their opponents, and division series expand to seven games.

If you don’t understand how truly sick this tweet is, switch out Israel for Sandy Hook. Talk about how tragic it is that innocent children were killed in school but then go on about how the mental health crisis that caused Lanza to shoot up the school is the real tragedy.
This day is profoundly painful for so many New Yorkers. It marks three years since the horrific war crimes of October 7. On that day, Hamas killed more than 1,100 Israelis and abducted 251 others. We grieve alongside our many friends and neighbors who still carry that unthinkable loss. The suffering did not begin nor end that day. It instead continued through the Israeli government’s devastating, ongoing genocide in Gaza, in which it has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians—including more than 21,000 children. Even since the so-called ceasefire, more than 1,400 Palestinians have been killed. That suffering has intensified with every Israeli bomb dropped on ambulances waiting outside hospitals, every drone strike targeting a residential building or journalist, and every shipment of food aid turned away at a border crossing. Many New Yorkers are reckoning with this unbearable grief, and we mourn alongside them – all while knowing that our tax dollars fund these war crimes. Three years later, we must refuse to accept a world in which occupation and apartheid continue, where war crimes are met with impunity, and our federal government continues its complicity with every arms shipment. To honor the dead, we must fight for a world in which every person can live with freedom, safety, and dignity.

Today marks 3 years since Hamas caused the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust. It gets no less unfathomable with time that Israelis went to a music festival that day to have fun and they ended up kidnapped, slaughtered and worse simply because they existed. Since the attack, Israel, as any country would, defended itself, and are now at war - not with the people of Palestine, but with Hamas, a terrorist organization. With that being said, if you’re going to use today to chime in with a “Free Palestine” tweet, at least be informed enough to know who from. If you genuinely care about the Palestinian people and don’t use your fake support to hide your antisemitism, know who you want Palestine to be free from. The terrorists stealing the metric tons of food from the civilians Israel is trying to nourish. The terrorists who would not let civilians leave, regardless of Israel warning them to get to safety. The terrorists who use their own people as human shields to make Israel look like they’re attacking schools and hospitals, not terror cells in tunnels Hamas built there. To honor all of the victims from this day 3 years ago, I suggest you educate yourself on what is really happening, and why. Am Yisrael Chai 🇮🇱🇺🇸

Ethan Wilson is one of one. One of the greatest people you will ever meet. Praying for a speedy recovery and continued health for decades to come.
Ethan Wilson is a pro’s pro and it was my pleasure to work alongside him for 19 years with the Mets. Last week he underwent surgery and thankfully he is on the road to recovery. Send him your love and best wishes. metsinsider.mlblogs.com/etha…

Sign him right now. Let him play any position he wants. He can be Mr. Met. Whatever he wants just do it.
Jose Iglesias, 36, told Craig Melvin this week that he feels “good” and would only play for the Mets or Padres. He has not officially retired. “If that phone rings… I’ll be there… I’m in that stage in my life where, not just to play, but to play for something.”
