Mainstream media fails to honour the humanity of those who grieve by asking them to respond to questions so soon after they have lost a loved one.
It is particularly prevalent when Black families experience tragedy.
Our emotional dignity is rarely protected or honoured.
The level of vitriol is truly frightening and so very distressing. No one should have to suffer this level of abuse - ever! Don’t ever tell me racism isn’t real - just don’t!!
⚠️ One of my worst Blocks of the Month. #ButlerBlocks
Hateful racism, abuse and threats sent to me - just for speaking about Black History Month & blocking people.

My PhD research relates to a sensitive topic which thankfully few headteachers have had to deal with. Those who have & are able to share their experience will be contributing to a neglected area of research - headteacher emotions following a critical incident. Pls DM for details.

The panic attack Alison Hammond experienced recently has made me think about how many teachers and school leaders have experienced the same thing as a resul of the sense of overwhelm that often comes when the workload gets too much and they don’t have the right coping mechanisms
Very often those who experience panic attacks don’t realise what’s happening because they can present in very different ways: heart palpitations, difficulty breathing, uncontrollable crying, a sense of doom. It’s scary when it happens because the danger feels
real.
