I don't ask for much. #ActuallyAutistic. Scoundrel. He/him. Half-✡️, half-⚪️. AKA Dreadlocked Guru/Punk Rock Spicoli.

Originally, I was pro-Palestine. Most of my friends in the punk community were. They probably still are. I absorbed all of the agitprop about how Israel was allegedly built on stolen land, how Jews are nothing more than a religious faith, how Palestinians are the real Israelites, and how Jews would have been better off immigrating to the United States and serving as goody two shoes "white" allies to "real minorities". I wasn't equipped to challenge any of it at the time, so I didn't. But after a while, I began to have misgivings. The way people spoke about Israel and obsessed over it was unlike anything I had witnessed before, or since. This zealotry oftentimes bled into hostility against Jews qua Jews, all while they furiously denied any antisemitism on their part. It was disquieting. In 2011, I met Israelis online who challenged my views. They were very patient with me, although I didn't deserve it. They would have been well within their rights to tell me to go fuck myself with a cordless drill, but they didn't. They were extremely knowledgeable. They had etiquette, erudition, and a wealth of sources to back up everything they said. All I had were rehearsed lines. I didn't immediately have the courage to call out my friends, but I kept everything in my back pocket. Until one night, I gently pushed back against the settler colonialism charges being bandied about. I said something to the effect of "but don't Jews come from that land too?". The room fell silent. Some of them looked at me as though I had just swallowed a kitten whole, others began chuckling and saying "ooooooook?". I left the room without saying anything else. When I got home, I began posting about Jewish indigeneity on Facebook. This was long before most Zionists were talking about it, so I was nervous. But I did it because, on some level, I felt like I had to. I lost more than 100 friends within 3 hours. The comments ranged from "fuck off you Zionist pig" to "are the ZOG paying you" to "I hope Iran builds nukes and evens the score with the Zionist regime" (this was said by a self-professed anti-war activist). One quoted the Protocols and "TrueTorahJews" at me. I was confused and, increasingly, isolated. I was no longer welcome in my old spaces. I got into a lot of fights, some of which became physical. On a few occasions, I was stalked by people who chucked garbage at me. I became reclusive from that point on, and largely have been ever since. 13 years later, I still have no community. Out of the large scene I was once part of, I only have contact with 2 people. But, I have no regrets either way. I wouldn't have been able to live with myself if I didn't speak out.

How long did y’all think you could fuck with Jews before they said enough and told you to go fuck yourselves? Jews are people too. I know the DSA has convinced many Democrats and Chorus influencers otherwise, but they’re people — who deserve to be respected and valued like everyone else. Don’t be cry bullies. Y’all wanted the “zionist” — we all know you mean Jews — out; well, now they’re saying peace out on Abdul’s campaign.

Self-hating minorities are more dangerous to their respective minority groups than white supremacist and there’s no greater proof of this than Bernie Sanders and Morris Katz.

Antisemites have never been more confident and exuberant. Not since WWII have they felt more free to express their prejudices unencumbered by shame or social pressure. What they fail to realize is that this moment won't last forever. The zeitgeist will change again, just as it always does. Even more so if this newest strain of antisemitism results in something truly catastrophic. If, god forbid, that does happen, today's antisemites will have nowhere to hide. They will meet the same fate as yesterday's brownshirts: the gallows. Their mad rabid barking won't save them from the rope. I look forward to watching them beg for their lives, just as the Nazis did, only to be condemned and recorded by history as monsters. And at the end of it all, Israel will still be there.

Do people realize that when they say this, it amounts to telling Jews to abandon Zionism (a belief in Israel's fundamental right to exist as a Jewish state) or become fair game?
Replying to @dansenor
Not all Jews are Zionists, and calling political speech antisemitic is profoundly un-American.

I've heard plenty of Jewish commentators that I admire, Jonah Goldberg, Ben Shapiro, John Podheretz, Bari Weiss, etc., voicing criticisms of Netanyahu, of specifics of Israeli policy, strategy, and so forth. Such criticisms are NOT what the charges of antisemitism against El-Sayed and others are about. It's about questioning the right of Israel to exist, it's about the charges of dual-loyalty and being bought and paid for, its about peddling the talking points of radical Islam, its about defending the use of terrorism as a legitimate military strategy, it's about peddling age old antisemitic tropes.

I'm not visibly Jewish and do not have a Jewish last name. I am as white-passing as it gets. I've seen people's attitudes towards me change on a dime upon finding out my mother's Jewishness. People who obsess over microaggressions aimed at other groups have no qualms being openly racist against Jews. It's horrifying.
I have a friend who is not visibly Jewish and doesn't have a Jewish name. He told me, You would never believe how many people are consistently negative toward Jews. I said, I honestly have not really seen that. He said, well, they won't say it to you... yet. I think it is important to come to terms with this. What we do about it is up to each of us.

Don't tell people with OCD to "cut it out". If we could do that, we wouldn't be doing these rituals in the first place. We do rituals because our brains are wired in such a way that if we don't, our brains will feel like they're on fire. We are, literally, slaves to our own minds. That's not a fucking joke.

The Jews should accept a painful truth: They have never been welcome in Europe. They started trickling in after the destruction of the first temple, in 586 B.C., and they came in larger numbers after the destruction of the second temple, in 70 A.D., and they have made huge contributions to Western civilization, and for all that two-thirds of them were destroyed during the war, and most of the survivors left, and now there are small pockets of Jewishness scattered across the continent. The remaining Jews can stay and put up with the antisemites and the barbarian horde they've imported, or they can move to the Jewish state or America. America, its many failures and foibles notwithstanding, remains a vastly better, smarter, more innovative, more tolerant, more civilized place than Europe. Yes, Europe has socialized healthcare and bullet trains, but it mostly exists in a fantasyland-museum propped up by the United States and its' nuclear umbrella. The United States, to be sure, has its illiberal element -- its leftists, its so-called heritage Americans. Those people are disgusting, but their worldview is not in keeping with the timeless America, the essential America. They are an aberration, a function of an unhappy, unhealthy moment. They will be absorbed by the tides of time. Happy Halloween.

I am having trouble eating lately I don't know if it's my new medication (Fluvoxamine + Lybalvi) or what. But father keeps cooking meals and I don't have the stomach space to eat them. Should I go to a doctor?

For the Epsteinth time, criticizing Israel's genocide in Gaza does not make one an antisemite. Many American Jews are doing the same.

Psst: Israel isn’t some consolation prize because Jews went through the Holocaust. It’s a nation state as a result of a decolonization effort that has survived religious and political animus from every corner of the world, and it will survive your anger and discomfort. My advice is to help it thrive well.

Lying about Israel and then saying you're not antisemitic because you're just criticizing Israel is blatantly antisemitic because you are actually calculating how to introduce antisemitism into mainstream politics under the cover of propaganda. This is Goebells kind of stuff.
