The Conference is organized by

The Conference will be structured around two main sessions:
📌 Session 1: New Trends in the Taxation of Cross-Border Trade in Goods and Services
The first session, which will feature a speech by the Director for Customs, Directorate General for Taxation and Custmos Union (DG TAXUD), European Commission, Mr Matthias Petschke, will explore the rapidly evolving international landscape for cross-border trade, addressing both the mobility of goods – including trade, tariffs, EU Free Trade Agreements and customs reform – and the mobility of services, with particular attention to the failure of Pillar 1, the growing role of unilateral tax measures and the emerging challenges posed by AI taxation.
📌 Session 2: Rewriting the Rules: the OECD Side-by-Side Package and the EU Taxation Omnibus Directive Proposal
The second session will focus on the evolving international and European tax framework, including the implications of the OECD Side-by-Side package for Pillar Two and the EU Taxation Omnibus proposal, with particular attention to EU strategies to preserve a level playing field with non implementing jurisdictions. Among the institutional guests will be the Director for Direct Taxation, Tax Coordination, Economic Analysis and Evaluation, European Commission Benjamin Angel. This session includes a presentation of Assonime's survey findings regarding the administrative compliance costs faced by businesses under Pillar Two.
The Conference will conclude with a discussion on the Italian perspective on international taxation, with closing remarks by representatives of the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Italian Revenue Agency (
