Rey Ordonez could make shortstop look like an acrobat position.
He won three straight Gold Gloves from 1997 through 1999, and one of his famous early plays came in his MLB debut with a barehanded, on-the-knees relay. Defense wasn't the quiet part of his game. It was the entire reason people stopped to watch him.
Upsets don’t happen when you recruit the same guys. Auburn Bama UGA Tenn LSU Ole Miss UF Texas, A&M Oklahoma in some ways South Carolina can’t upset each other. There are games you should win based on continuity and performance history.
3 things.
4v1 and 3v2 is boring and predictable and people can usually start assuming who they have by week 7. It’s also usually very chalky. These brackets won’t be chalky.
Unbalanced regions of 5 teams where you have to win 1 game vs regions of 8-9 teams is 1 unfair, and 2 makes so many games on some teams schedule meaningless.
No one wants to see 1-9, 2-8 4 seeds get in.
PSR solves all 3.
It’s actually crazy how you grow up thinking home-cooked meals every day are just normal, then get older and realise how much time and effort it took your Mom to make that happen and how lucky you were to have that.
Rules analyst y’all lose all credibility when you don’t keep it real. The qb is late on the slide on purpose and therefore suffers the consequences. Get down early. Stop penalizing aggressive controlled players with late sliding QBs. It’s their fault.
The thing about 24 that bothers me most is…
Who is this for?
It’s not because TV was begging for it. ESPN had to be convinced.
It’s not for a boatload of new cash. Losing conf champ games is gonna make this a minimal gain.
It’s not because the 22nd team has any shot at a natty. It doesn’t.
It’s certainly not done with the health, safety, or academic success of the players in mind since they don’t even get a say in this.
It’s entirely to appease the people donating the money that keeps a financially irresponsible business model afloat. It’s discounting success so schools can say “look what your donation bought.”
It’s an industry hellbent on treating investors and bosses as the customer, and customers as an infinite resource that will keep coming back no matter what.
Manny Ramirez hit .312 for his career with 555 home runs and 1,831 RBI, all with a .996 OPS. His 29 postseason home runs and 78 postseason RBI still stand as the AL or NL record.
