Our new study has been published in Surgical Practice. Among 512 general surgeons in Türkiye, video game experience was associated with a greater preference for laparoscopic and robotic surgery. Although this does not prove better surgical performance, it raises interesting questions for modern surgical education. Proud to share the first publication of the Ankara University Colorectal ERAS Study Group, now online in BMC Surgery. This is more than a paper — it is the first fruit of years of patience, dedication, and true teamwork. My heartfelt thanks to every member of our surgical, anesthesia, and ERAS nursing teams for their loyalty and harmony throughout this journey. Every line of our prospective database carries your effort. In 151 patients undergoing elective right colectomy for colon cancer, higher ERAS compliance was associated with a significantly shorter hospital stay, and higher preoperative compliance was independently associated with lower odds of major complications. The message is clear: the benefit of ERAS lies not in having a protocol, but in delivering it consistently — and recovery begins before the incision. The first of many to come. 🎉Our very own @BbaharK presenting our study at #ASCO26! I am extremely happy for being the senior author for the first time!
