Day 20: Enable remote find, lock and wipe features If your phone has been stolen or lost in a location you can’t access, the priority shifts to security. Protecting your personal data is important, and the first step is to lock your stolen phone to prevent your information from getting into the wrong hands. With features like theft protection, remote lock, and find hub, you have more control than you might think. You can use Find Hub to see your phone on the map. Find hub can also be used to find a phone hiding in plain sight, even if the device is on silent mode it will ring at its highest volume for five minutes. Lock your phone with theft protection. When it detects a common theft motion, it automatically locks the screen to protect your information. Note: you will need to enable these ahead of time. If you’re sure you won’t be able to retrieve your phone, you can use the "Erase device" function in Find Hub to perform a factory reset and permanently delete all the data from your phone. Be aware that after you erase the device, Find Hub will no longer be able to track it. This should be used only as a last resort. @ireteeh
Day 19 Verify suspicious videos before sharing The line between real and artificial videos is getting blurry. You open a message and its a video of someone you know asking you to do what they usually wouldn't ask. Determine whether a video is real, look out for unnatural eye behavior, micro-expressions, and perfect facial symmetry. If you're unsure, put a call through to them. @ireteeh

This year, I have gifted laptops to 8 people who are in the Cybersecurity field, and I have replaced one laptop battery. I will be giving out 3 more laptops before the end of the year. The laptop scheme will officially close in December 2026, and all information collected will be permanently deleted. If you received a laptop from me, I wish you all the best. I hope the laptop helps you grow, learn, and achieve your goals. I am rooting for your success ❤️

Your phone contains more personal information than you may realise. Think about your photos, emails, social media accounts, banking apps and saved passwords. What would happen if someone got access to your device? It's Day 19 of cybersecurity awareness with @CyberRealm_HQ Securing your personal devices goes beyond setting a password. It's also about protecting the information stored on them and making it harder for someone else to gain access. So, what can you do? - Lock your device: Use a strong PIN, password or biometric authentication. - Keep it updated: Install security updates for your operating system and apps. - Download apps carefully: Use official app stores and check the permissions an app requests. - Enable Find My Device: This can help you locate, lock or erase a lost device, depending on your device and settings. - Back up your data: Keep a backup of important files so you can recover them if your device is lost, damaged or compromised. And please, don't leave your phone unlocked with just anybody because you know them. How many of these security habits do you already practise?

Day 19: Verify Suspicious Videos Before Sharing Fake or manipulated videos spread quickly online. Sharing one without checking can spread false information or even harm others. Before you share a video: 1) Ask yourself if the source is reliable. @ireteeh @CybarikGlobal
Day 18: Review App Permissions Regularly Many apps ask for access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts, or files even when they don’t really need them. Too many permissions can put your privacy at risk. @ireteeh

Day 18: Review app permissions regularly Apps can often access sensitive information about you, including health, financial, and locational data. If you don’t properly manage your app permissions, you increase the risk that this information is shared or sold to third parties.  A photo app might need to use your phone's camera, but why does the calendar app has permission to use your location, photos and videos. Limit access to app that doesn't need them and uninstall unused apps on your device. @ireteeh

Use strong passwords, PIN, Face ID or fingerprint print. When your device is not in use make sure to lock it or set it to lock automatically after a few seconds. Your devices contain a lot of information about you. Learn how to be careful so your information doesn't end up in the hands of a cyber criminal. @ireteeh

Your password alone shouldn't be your only layer of defense. Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds another layer of security by requiring you to prove your identity in more than one way. It's day 15 of cybersecurity awareness with @CyberRealm_HQ There are three main types of authentication factors: - Something you know: Your password or PIN. - Something you have: Your phone, authenticator app or a code. - Something you are: Your fingerprint or face. Common MFA methods include, verification codes and biometrics. So what is the whole point of MFA? Your password could be stolen and MFA makes it harder for someone to access your account with just your password. Check your email, social media and banking settings to see where you can enable MFA.

Day 15: Keep sensitive information away from prying eyes. Our phones are constantly in our hands, but have you considered how often it gets into the hands of others? Whether it’s entertaining a child, showing something funny to a friend, or sending it in for repair; so is our devices. Use privacy screen to block side angle viewing from shoulder surfers. Avoid accessing bank accounts, inputting passwords, or reviewing confidential documents while in crowded public spaces or on public transit. @ireteeh

Good thread 💜 Mentorship requires a great deal of sacrifice. Over the past few years, it has cost me both time and money. Beyond my own sacrifices, other people have also given their time, energy, and resources to make my mentorship programme a success. If you see anyone going out of their way to support your career, please remember to say a prayer for them. Sometimes, we see the impact of their work without seeing the sacrifices behind it.
I understand the importance of mentorship. However, I don’t believe in the concept of pressuring someone to mentor you, getting entitled to someone’s mentorship or consistently begging or chasing them for mentorship.

Day 14: Keep Account recovery information secure and up to date. Using a strong credentials or mfa to secure your account is great and so is keeping your acount recovery information secure and up to date. If an email address or a phone number is outdated, please remove it from the recovery list. Review and always update your recovery methods in your account security settings to make sure you can regain access if you get locked out. @ireteeh
