🏁 VICTORIA HAS LOST THE MOTOGP.
Today, the first practice session of Victoria’s last Moto Gp started.
For decades, Phillip Island has hosted one of the world’s most iconic motorcycle racing events, attracting visitors from across Australia and around the world.
But this wasn’t just a race. It was part of Victoria’s identity and a major economic driver for regional businesses.
The event generated approx $54.6 million for Victoria, including $29.4 million in direct spending in the Bass coast. It supported 284 local jobs, and attracted over 90,000 visitors over the three days, every year. (ABC)
That is all heading to Adelaide from next year.
Another major event slipping through our fingers thanks to a clueless government, and now our small businesses and local workers will pay the price. A major part of Victoria’s identity, gone.
