Dr. Omelianchuk is a member of our Academy of Fellows. We're grateful for his work!
Probably the most personal paper I've written, but one I re-read before I go on call. In it, I explain how the Christian view of compassion informs my work as a clinical ethics consultant. Topics: fear, charity, empathy, justice, moral responsibility, failure, mercy, resilience.

New INTERSECTIONS: "AI, the Physician-Patient Encounter, and Our Health Data," by Holly Lazzaro, MA cbhd.org/intersections/ai-th… Recent developments in AI-driven data analysis have provided hopeful advancements in medicine. However, as humanity races to use the power of technology now at our fingertips, the healthcare industry has fallen victim to the same dilemma as many other sectors: Technology development is outpacing ethical and regulatory boundary-setting.

New Intersections Entry in Our "Shared Convictions: CBHD and LeTourneau on Mission" Series—Paul’s Ambiguity and Questions of Virtue by Jonathan Wilcoxson, PhD cbhd.org/intersections/pauls… At LeTourneau University, we are committed to scripture as the final norm for moral reasoning and the fountain of the virtuous life. This means we often bring our ethical questions to scripture, and rightly so. But sometimes scripture seems to resist our questions, refusing simple solutions but drawing us into an ongoing dialogue. ------- Jonathan Wilcoxson serves as LeTourneau University’s chief of staff. He is an LETU alumnus, having graduated with a bachelor’s degree in History and Biblical Studies in 2009. He also earned an MA in Early Christian Studies and a PhD in Theology (Christianity and Judaism in Antiquity) at the University of Notre Dame. His research focuses on social and cultural history and biblical interpretation in early Christianity, including the New Testament. He teaches occasionally as Assistant Professor of Theology at LETU. "Shared Convictions: CBHD and LeTourneau on Mission” is a new series introducing CBHD’s partnership with LeTourneau University. Each piece highlights a different LeTourneau faculty or staff and will evidence the shared mission to produce theologically rich and biblically grounded explorations of key issues at the intersection of faith, science, and technology. -------
