Insanity! 😑
We’ll be talking about some of the open platforms, protocols and technologies which already exist that Ofcom or courts couldn’t compel, stop or steal a persons data from, even if they tried at @FreedomFest_UK
21 Nov • Manchester • FreedomFest.now
UK speech regulator Ofcom asked Meta, WhatsApp, X and TikTok for ongoing data on what people in Britain post, who sees it, how much gets taken down, and how fast, all broken down by age.
The companies asked why. The UK High Court has now ruled that Ofcom doesn’t have to say. The platforms, on the other hand, had to prove in detail that complying would be a burden. X said it would cost millions of pounds and hundreds of hours of work. The court said that wasn’t detailed enough.
Data sorted by age requires the platforms to know every user’s age, and a regulator that can demand it on a whim is laying the groundwork for digital ID one request at a time.

18 years ago today, nine pages were published that will prove to be among the most important documents in human history.
The Bitcoin whitepaper gave us money that is open to all, owned by its users and controlled by no one.
Happy Birthday!! 🧡 #Bitcoin

Did you know?
The Ostrich is technically the fastest land animal, given that they can run up to ~40 mph...for ~30-40 mins! 🤯
In comparison, a Cheetah can run up to 70 mph, but only for a few minutes at best. 💨
Ostriches can never be a #latebird. ⚡
Be an Ostrich! 🪶

No white walls. No standing at a respectful distance. Sofas, rugs, lamps, a fireplace, and work by 100+ artists hung salon-style.
