Excellent value for the Titans. It had to be done. Good trade borganzi. The Titans will have a big salary cap hit.

The #Titans are sending Jeff Simmons to the #Bears for a massive package to help Tennessee rebuilt. It’s two firsts at least.

The best example for roster building/roster construction is the @Brewers. They have an elite player development program that feeds the roster. When players leave in free agency they have options in the minors at multiple levels. They don’t panic, when Aaron Ashby didn’t work as a starter instead of shipping him off they allowed him to be an elite bullpen arm. Congrats to Matt Arnold and staff!!!

The big winner of this World Series? Scouts! The Brewers and Rays are deeply analytical but also deeply rooted in traditional scouting. Perhaps there’s a lesson there. @MLB mlb.com/news/brewers-rays-sc…

The Browns got big plays from their young talent. The #Titans got too few from theirs. Blake Beddingfield examines which Tennessee players are producing up to their draft status and contracts, and which ones need to do more. paulkuharsky.com/news/titans…

Hard to beat Thursday nights during football season. Even harder when the lineup is this stacked.

Weeks 6-8! @BlakeBedd @CoachTrey_Adams @HLNichols11 @CPAFootball @CoachTBarr @CSmithScout

Also, So much turnover among front offices (lead to high volume of new players on team) and coaching staffs (new systems) compared to decades ago but the new rules allow less practice time, contact than when staffs were consistently intact.

The #Titans finally won. Cam Ward threw for 102 yards and completed half his passes. Blake Beddingfield questions how the team can find out what its quarterback is capable of if the coaches won't challenge him in important situations. paulkuharsky.com/news/titans…

Note to NFL owners looking for GM’s. Hire someone that can build rosters, not just acquire talent. Force them to have a plan. IGNORE just analytics and numbers. It plays a part but it must be defined within the vision of the roster construction. #rosterconstruction

A rule change that needs to happen. Illegal contact is five yards. Scrap the automatic first down. @NFLOfficiating

The #Titans need to stop experimenting and figure out what their players actually do well. Blake Beddingfield goes through the Houston tape with specific changes he'd make on offense, concerns about Cam Ward and a pass rush that isn't good enough. Plus a big question about Jeffery Simmons. @CallahanBinkley paulkuharsky.com/news/blake-…

Carnell Tate finally had his breakout game, and Blake Beddingfield sees other reasons for optimism on the #Titans tape. But an improving offensive line, flashes from Cam Ward and some promising young players still haven't added up to a win. paulkuharsky.com/news/carnel…

Blake Beddingfield saw something against the Giants that he hadn't seen from the #Titans this season: an offensive formula that can work for Cam Ward. He also saw the QB issues that can still wreck it. His full game review: paulkuharsky.com/news/titans…

Trade: Vikings are sending J.J. McCarthy to the New York Giants, sources me, @rapsheet and @mikegarafolo.

Thankful to have received an offer from @ETSUFootball and @Coach_heals! @BlakeBedd @CoachTrey_Adams @CPAFootball @HLNichols11 @CoachTBarr @CSmithScout @ChadSimmons_

Weeks 3-5!! @BlakeBedd @CoachTrey_Adams @HLNichols11 @CoachTBarr @CSmithScout

One of the biggest differences from Week One wasn't Cam Ward. It was what the Titans asked him to do. Blake Beddingfield on fewer passes, more running, better OL play and a Brian Daboll game plan that fit the personnel instead of stressing its weaknesses. paulkuharsky.com/news/titans…
