PSP took my dad back in 2017 at 61 years old. I was 29. I had never heard of it and I had never considered mortality before the day we learned of his illness. PSP or Progressive Supranuclear Palsy is an irreversible form of aggressive dementia that takes down your front temporal lobe and as such your ability to use logic and speech to communicate. It’s a slow at first, aggressive on the backend, illness with no cure and not near enough funding for research to find a causation or a treatment to slow it down. My heard goes out to Coach Atkinson, his family, and everyone else who has ever been affected by this horrible and relatively unknown disease.
