Fantastic research group camping outing last weekend: two nights of a northern lights show, a beautiful float and card games. Perfect weather only a few days after an 8” snow storm. @BroderickLabFeS

Check out our #potw! Thanks Alina for presenting this cool work about a radical SAM epimerase by the Broderick lab. Read to learn how a conserved Cys to Ser mutation helped trap and characterize the α-C • intermediate of OspA using rapid quench & EPR

We showed that upon reductive SAM cleavage, the 5’-dAdo radical moves *towards* the [4Fe4S] cluster, on its way to forming the omega organometallic intermediate. The once elusive radical, triangulated! @BroderickLabFeS @MartinMosqueraT
