Nigerian youths rose against @PoliceNG brutality, torture, extortion, and extrajudicial killings. On October 20, 2020, the Nigerian state, through its military, @HQNigerianArmy, responded to peaceful protesters with bullets in what became known as the #lekkitollgatemassacre !
Six years later, WHERE ARE THE KILLERS? WHO ORDERED THE SHOOTINGS AT #LekkiTollGate? WHO HAS BEEN PROSECUTED? WHY ARE THE VICTIMS STILL WAITING FOR JUSTICE?
Why are we not back on the streets demanding the arrest and prosecution of Lagos Governor @jidesanwoolu, the colonels, generals, the police and military commanders involved in the Lekki operation?
Why are we not demanding a full investigation into the role played by @officialABAT and members of his family who reportedly removed the camera from Lekki Toll gate to prepare the venue for the massacre? Why have those responsible for the actions of the security forces under @MBuhari's regime not been brought to justice?
WHY IS EVERYWHERE EERILY QUIET WHEN THE BLOOD SHED AT LEKKI TOLL GATE STILL CRIES OUT FOR JUSTICE?
The politicians who presided over that bloody repression may want Nigerians to forget. WE WILL NEVER FORGET!
#EndSARS was never merely about disbanding #SARS. It was a revolt against a system that brutalizes the poor, shields the powerful, and treats Nigerian lives as disposable.
