Cousins on Jalen Nailor: “He’s separating versus man coverage. Sometimes … just haven’t been getting to him on the progression. … He’s got game and I believe in him and we just have to bring that to the surface. Today was a good start.”

Raiders were 7 of 11 on third down after a 3-of-14 showing last week. Kubiak said “the dream scenario is not to get to third down” but was pleased with a “step in the right direction” and the “leap” the Raiders “needed to make.” More:

Kubiak on Kirk Cousins: “That’s who he’s been all year. He’s been a leader. He’s been a playmaker for us and that’s been the story of his season.”

Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak said Mike Washington Jr.’s featured role at running back was “my call” and noted Ashton Jeanty is “still going to be a big part of our team.” Asked Kubiak if Jeanty’s limited workload had anything to do with his mid-week comments in the media. “It didn’t,” Kubiak said. Raiders move to 4-4 and snap their four-game skid with a 38-33 win. Kirk Cousins with 247 passing yards, three passing scores, a rushing score and a 141 passer rating. Brock Bowers with seven catches, 92 yards and two scores. Mike Washington with 25 carries for 83 yards. Jalen Nailor with his first receiving score in silver and black.

Raiders drive into plus-territory, eat up some clock and add three more points via Matt Gay's 53-yard field goal. Las Vegas up 38-33 with 27 seconds to play. New York out of timeouts.

Hezekiah Masses with a third-down pass breakup to force a field goal after his hold turns a second-down sack into a fresh set of Jets downs. New York stalls in the red zone, kicks a 31-yard field goal and Las Vegas leads 35-33 with 4:31 to play.

Cousins pressured on third down and the Raiders go three and out, punting the Jets down to their own 19-yard line with 9:09 to play.

Raiders force their second consecutive three-and-out and take over on their own 29-yard line with 10:06 to play.

Cousins to Nailor for a 2-yard touchdown, set up by a 45-yard catch and run for Jeanty. Cousins with 234 passing yards, three passing touchdowns and a scoring run. Nailor's first score in silver and black. Raiders lead 35-30 with 11:33 to play.

Jets go three and out after a first-down hold and a first-down sack by Tim Keenan III. Raiders set up at their own 16-yard line with 1:33 to play in the third quarter.

Cousins sneaks from 1 yard out for a touchdown after a third-down strike to Nailor and a first-down completion to a jumping Bowers in coverage. Raiders down 30-28 with 4:14 to play in the third quarter. Bowers with six catches for 78 yards. Nailor with three catches and 36 yards.

Allen runs untouched for a 21-yard score and a 30-21 deficit at the 8:20 mark of the third quarter for the Raiders. Gaping running lanes for ball carriers and openings aplenty in the second and third levels for pass catchers.

Cousins to Bowers from 2 yards out for six, capping a drive that includes six carries from Washington for 30 yards. Bowers also starts the possession with a 27-yard snag. Raiders down 23-21 with 9:59 to play in the third quarter.
