Two very annoying things happened: 1) We have tried using AI to help write and it is officially an absolute failure. It "works" for writing articles, but it really just writes a whole lot of nonsense like your mildly inebriated uncle is telling people about your idea, and so we are continuing to write from scratch. However, it absolutely does help with research and it would help if we wanted to pump out nonsense. 2) Separately, we recently wrote an article that we absolutely did not use AI to write any aspect of it, yet the Substack check says it was 5% AI written. Are we part machine? Is this real life?

We absolutely do not understand investors who do not meet with management teams. Recently we met with a new CEO and colletively said "good lord, we have to run from this." Numbers are fine today, but destruction is coming. Businesses are people. People can destroy things.

To be clear, we do not want to jump between stock ideas. We absolutely want to fall in love with outstanding management teams that are executing well and have a long runway.

We really don’t understand the mindset of not talking with management teams. A terrible CEO can absolutely destroy a business, and it can happen very quickly. And saying you don’t talk to management because you don’t want to be biased is like driving your car with ear plugs. Sometimes you don’t have to be a mechanic to know there’s a problem.

The pen and paper need to die, but I find it very awkward sitting there with a laptop typing away and a epen on a phone screen is too small.
