The Capital Markets Authority conducted a training session for capital market players on Anti-Money Laundering, Countering the Financing of Terrorism and Proliferation Financing, with a focus on Suspicious Transaction Reporting. The training aimed to improve participants’ ability to identify and report suspicious transactions, assess financial crime risks and meet regulatory requirements. Topics covered included customer due diligence, beneficial ownership, suspicious transaction indicators and reporting procedures, with practical examples from securities trading and collective investment schemes. The initiative is part of CMA’s ongoing work to promote regulatory compliance, investor protection and transparency in Rwanda’s capital markets. #RwandaCapitalMarkets

CMA remains committed to working with BRD, the World Bank and government partners to strengthen the regulatory framework, market infrastructure and investor protection mechanisms required to support the project. Capital markets stakeholders met with business owners in @MusanzeDistrict, @RwandaNorth to present opportunities for accessing long-term finance through the capital markets. CEO @RomeoNgarambe called on businesses to adopt sound corporate governance and financial transparency to attract investors. The Governor of the Northern Province, @gahundemaurice encouraged entrepreneurs to consider capital markets as an alternative source of finance for business expansion. Business owners welcomed the initiative, citing the need for more financing options to support their investment plans and enterprise growth.
