The three PKC-sponsored initiatives, which will appear on your ballot next month, each deal with different topics, but are united by the same themes animating the group behind them: homophobia, conspiracism, and an utter disregard for the children they claim to be protecting. coloradotimesrecorder.com/20…

Attorney General Weiser listened to parents and educators and got a result that will make life online safer for kids in Colorado and across the country. Protecting kids shouldn't be a partisan issue, and this result shows what's possible when we actually work together, across partisan and state lines, to protect young people. coloradotimesrecorder.com/20…

Amendment 83 could be a Trojan Horse to complicate future efforts against climate change, or it could end up being mostly superfluous, doubling down on rights that already exist; Amendment 82 is more sinister, enshrining new rights for oil companies even as the toll of manmade climate change grows more dire every year. coloradotimesrecorder.com/20…

DAVIS: Of the 14 initiatives appearing on Colorado’s ballot, eight of them were created and sponsored by the billionaire-funded right-wing organization Advance Colorado. Propositions 132, 81, & 86 might be the cruelest of the bunch. coloradotimesrecorder.com/20… #copolitics

On the campaign trail, congressional candidate Gabe Evans talks a lot about his experience in the military, police force, and Colorado Legislature. But what you don’t hear him discuss in any detail – and what’s completely absent from his campaign website – is his formative training as a right-wing activist, embracing the core agenda of the Christian right, including a ban on abortion, opposition to gay marriage, the appointment of conservative Supreme Court Justices, and more. coloradotimesrecorder.com/20…

A CTR investigation revealed that Medicaid likely paid for the hospital bills of at least one of Republican Congressman Gabe Evans' kids. Evans later voted to gut Medicaid, threatening Medicaid for others after he likely benefited from the program himself. He has never confirmed or denied that Medicaid covered his kid's bills, citing their privacy. But he talks about his kids' expensive illnesses in detail in speeches and interviews to DEFEND HIS VOTE TO CUT MEDICAID, SAYING HE UNDERSTANDS HOW IMPORTANT HEALTH INSURANCE IS BECAUSE HE'S FACED MEDICAL CRISES. And he's posted photos of his kids on social media when he's accused of not caring about health care. So it appears that he hasn't been selectively worried about their privacy.

This opinion piece was submitted to the Colorado Springs Gazette about the authors' opposition to Proposition 132. Instead of publishing the piece, the Gazette published a much shorter Letter to the Editor. The authors believe Coloradans deserve to see their piece – and their serious reservations about this ballot measure and the harms it will do – in full. coloradotimesrecorder.com/20… #copolitics
