Our partner Vietnam National University (VNU) is building a national smoke-free campus network made up of 14 institutions across Viet Nam. On September 8, the VNU Hanoi Youth Union and its students took the next step by launching the Smoke-Free Youth Club which puts young people at the center of creating tobacco-free lecture halls, dormitories and student events.
At the launch, Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids’ China and Viet Nam Program director, Qian Geng, shared lessons from the growing youth movement for tobacco-free campuses in China.
As tobacco products increasingly target young people, efforts to reduce tobacco use will go much further when a young generation leads the way.
Tobacco-Free Kids looks forward to continuing to support this important work!
