every day I see fewer and fewer reasons to use memory-unsafe languages. in the last few weeks: 10 patched Chromium CVEs, multiple use-after-frees and memory corruption bugs, an exploited CoreGraphics out-of-bounds write, and an iOS 27 jailbreak demo. slop rewrites in rust are the only solution to prevent against these classes of bugs

Lots of discussion out there about our next model(!), so I wanted to give an early look as soon as possible. Introducing Gemini 4 Argon! It shows frontier performance in complex workflows, cyber defense and software engineering. Teams are using it extensively at Google, from coding to quantum computing, great feedback. Here’s a look at the benchmarks:

Experimental checker affinity reuses cached types - thanks to @feedthejim for the initial investigation. This is hidden behind an env var until the option is stabilized. Take a look at github.com/oxc-project/tsgol… for how to try it. The performance is most noticable in large repos - some benchmarking has seen improvements of almost 30%. Please share your findings!

Before we can start checking/linting files, we need to assign them to a tsconfig so they can get the correct program settings, any globals/ambient declarations. This work blocks running the linter/checker.
