Kenya–Canada: Science, Technology and Multilateralism
An insightful meeting with Canada’s High Commissioner to Kenya, H.E. Joshua Tabah, and his team on our collaboration in critical and emerging technologies, the AI Middle Powers initiative, and the Trust Summit.
We noted the depth of existing Kenya–Canada cooperation, including in research, and discussed Nairobi’s place as a diplomatic hub and the wider role of business, research and innovation, including companies such as Cohere.

It is imperative that Ethiopia and Eritrea commit to de-escalation given current tensions, with full respect on both sides for sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Canada continues to closely monitor the ongoing violence in Ethiopia and is deeply concerned by the risk of regional escalation. We call for the de-escalation of inflammatory cross-border rhetoric and a return to diplomatic dialogue.
