Files and folder structures make sense for computers and clearly defined processes. They are not the right containers for creative thinking over longer periods of time -- unless you want to spend lots of time maintaining and enforcing a rigid system, which most people don't want to do.
Object types and linking are all you need.
One way I am trying out to solve this currently is to use @CapacitiesHQ as my command center for all my agents. And so far I am impressed at how well this is working.
@CapacitiesHQ is an object based note taking app. Kinda like a mix between Obsidian & Notion. I can easily connect Capacities with any agent via MCP and I can create separate workspaces so that I can easily use a sandbox like environment where I know the agent can't mess up my personal notes. Or I can create separate workspaces for separate agents if I wanted to.
I basically tell the agents to document everything in Capacities. And because of the nature of Capacities, everything gets linked together via backlings, tags, mentions, etc.
And one part I really like: Capacities has native task management built in. So whenever an agent needs my input on something the agent can create a task for me that will show up in my task dashboard.
And it also works the other way around...I can simply create a task for the agent and tag it with e.g. "ask-agent" and my agent scans the Capacities workspace for this tag multiple times a day and then works on these tasks whenever it discovers the "ask-agent" tag. The agent then completes the task and documents everything it did and the outcome/output in the page of that task.
Still experimenting with it and improving it bit by bit, but so far I've been really liking how smooth it works.
What are you doing to manage all your agents?
If you are living a poly-agentic life you may be suffering by trying to remember which agent and thread has context on what…
I finally knit my AI life together and am experimenting with @bot heavily, but I still use my @NousResearch Hermes agent team daily as well!
