🚨Exclusive: 'He grabbed me by the arm' and 'shoved me out of the way' - 'It's just absolutely fantasy to say that it was the Liberal Democrats that started it.' Lib Dem MP @CarolineVoaden tells me she was 'startled' after a physical altercation with Nigel Farage during the state opening of parliament The South Devon MP says she reported what happened to the Sergeant at Arms, who told her Farage had been told to apologise (but she says she has never received one). Reform maintains 'it's not true at all' and 'this is typical Lib Dem dishonesty in an attempt to stay relevant', while the Lib Dem frontbencher @mpmwilko backs up Voaden's account.
The MP involved in a “physical altercation” with Nigel Farage says it’s “absolutely fantasy” that the Lib Dems started it. Caroline Voaden told Sky’s @LucyJMcDaid she was “startled” by the exchange in May. Reform says the allegations are “not true at all”

Shocked and bloody angry I think... it takes more than that to shake me. I may be a woman, but I'm not the snowflake here.
Exclusive: Nigel Farage's "physical altercation" during the State Opening of Parliament was with the Lib Dem MP Caroline Voaden - and has caused an major row between Reform and the Lib Dems. Lib Dem sources say Voaden was left "shocked and shaken" after he "shoved" her to secure a place in the procession of MPs to the King's Speech. Video from the Commons Chamber that day shows Farage and Voaden making their way down from their benches together. Voaden reported the incident to the Serjeant at Arms and says Farage was asked to apologise - but hasn't. A Reform spokesman denies any wrongdoing by Farage, saying "it was the Lib Dem MPs being aggressive towards Nigel". Lib Dems say that is "utter nonsense" Farage said yesterday that the "physical altercation" was the reason he didn't put up a fight to be in the Chamber for the Budget after his prayer card to save a space was removed. He said he thought that after the row with Voaden, it was "better to avoid conflict". But in a further twist, a Commons spokesman says Farage's card was only removed because it didn't have a date stamp, which are required to reserve a spot. And we both know that’s not true Nigel don’t we? I’m still waiting for the apology you were required to write to me… Though I won’t hold my breath
🚨 WATCH: Nigel Farage says he didn't attend the Budget in Parliament to "avoid a physical altercation" "Given my prayer card [to reserve a seat] was removed, I was heading towards another physical altercation... being a quiet, shy and modest person, I decided against it"

Deeply disappointed not to hear the word education once in the Chancellor’s speech today. Extra books for kids - great. But nowhere near enough - school budgets stretched, teachers’ pay unfunded and a SEND black hole. How can that not be addressed?

Very pleased @YvetteCooperMP has dropped plans to abolish HealthWatch. Patients must have a voice and a stronger HealthWatch will help them speak up about their experience of the NHS. Proud of the @LibDems campaign on this.
This is the right decision from the Government. Our @LibDems campaign to stop the bonfire of patient safety has been a success! theguardian.com/society/2026…

Since when was strangulation called ‘breath-play’?! There is absolutely nothing playful AT ALL about someone trying to strangle you while having sex, when you didn’t ask for it, didn’t consent and are scared for your life. WTAF…
Did you know that on the 6th of November 2026 the UK Government is banning the publication and possession of pornography depicting breath play, age-play, and incest? The maximum sentence for publication offences is five years imprisonment. This will affect publishers and consumers globally. The offences are, in simple terms: 1. Strangulation or suffocation. (2 years for possession, 5 years for publication) 2. Penetrative sexual activity between people pretending to be related. (2 years for possession, 5 years for publication) 3. Sexual activity between two people where (a reasonable person would think) at least one person is, or is pretending to be, under sixteen. (3 years for possession, 5 years for publication) I have provided criminal and obscenity law advice to UK and global creators, producers, platforms, and consumers on pornography publication and possession offences since 2006. Please feel free to contact me at law@mylesjackman.com for formal legal advice. gov.uk/guidance/crime-and-po…

Having worked in Yugoslavia as a journalist in the 90s, this is astonishing to see. What is happening in Serbia right now gives hope that even in the most controlled regimes there are people whose hope and ambition can lead them to achieve extraordinary things.
📺 “We reported events one-sidedly for years”: Serbian TV apologizes to viewers after Vučić's party loses the election Radio Television of Vojvodina (RTV) opened its news broadcast with footage of celebrations following the Student List's election victory — scenes it had failed to show the previous evening. “For years, we failed to fulfill our duty. We kept silent, turned a blind eye, reported events one-sidedly, and failed to ask the necessary questions. For that, we owe our viewers an apology,” news anchor Goran Eror said. Following the controversy, RTV's acting editor-in-chief Nenad Čačić resigned. A similar incident occurred in Hungary, where state television also apologized to viewers after Viktor Orbán's election defeat.

But seeing the main news channel apologise for having fed the government line for so long is something I never expected. "The right questions were not asked, or no questions were asked at all, and for that we apologise." Those of my colleagues who worked with the Reuters

Foundation, training journalists in Eastern Europe in what a free press really was and meant, must be delighted to see this. It won't happen overnight, but what a great start to the change Serbia has shown it wants to see.

This is quite something. Building a completely new political movement from the ground up through direct democracy. It will be fascinating to see how they manage in government but what an amazing experiment in new ways of doing politics

What an extraordinary result in Serbia, as student led movement beats authoritarian Vučić govt with record turnout. A victory for democracy and free speech - a free media in Belgrade will be quite something. And not something Putin will appreciate. bbc.co.uk/news/videos/c8x23x…

Hats off to @ChildrensComm Rachel de Souza for this damning report on the postcode lottery of children’s lives in the UK. I will be at the report launch in parliament tomorrow - really hope it gets the scrutiny it deserves in parliament.

I’m not going to agree with Andy Burnham on everything, but this statement needed to be said by a Prime Minister. After the Conservatives suppressed the truth for years, this took courage.
