During a visit to flood-affected areas of Nuwakot today, Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. Megan Bouldin and a congressional staff delegation visited Catholic Relief Services and Caritas Nepal community centers and the World Food Programme coordination hub to see how U.S. assistance is providing food, shelter, and psychosocial support to affected communities.
The delegation also met with district police leadership to thank them for their efforts to find missing Americans and viewed a recently installed U.S.-made bridge helping reconnect Nuwakot and Rasuwa districts.
With more than $36 million committed, American support includes emergency relief, disaster-response equipment, and forensic expertise to help identify missing Americans and other victims.
