Could boxing promoter Eddie Hearn – Henry Pollock and Finn Russell’s agent – play a big part in the future of Prem Rugby?

A spectacular missing of the point. Last night’s game was magnificent AND high scoring. It was not magnificent because it was high scoring.
Rugby’s power-brokers seem to not have understood the difference yet. This sort of rhetoric doesn’t help.
To the fabulous rugby community of Gloucester, if those team selections do not compel you to attend Kingsholm tomorrow night and see how good your improving side really is, then nothing will. Box office.
Oh, and I have it confirmed from Bordeaux that Big Ben at No 5 is no error.
On Sunday, I had sympathy for Christophe Ridley, George Ford and Chandler Cunningham-South.
The “hip drop” tackle law, and its rolling out, is a mess - and it could cause chaos this autumn.

Breaking!
Totoa Auvaa has been sacked by Saracens after another late-night fracas.
It was Auvaa who triggered the crisis which saw Ben Stokes dramatically retire from international cricket and resign as England's Test captain.
More soon @TelegraphRugby
I rate Archie vdF but it was odd that Jamie Blamire was not PotM in Leicester's win against Gloucester on Friday.
The stats now out: most dominant tackles in the Prem round, a try, a turnover - and shoring up the lineout, dominant scrum.
Think England should have another look.
Jake Dalziel has 10 minutes of Prem rugby under his belt (maybe not even that), has touched the ball only three or four times, and he already looks as though he could be starting at fly-half for more than half of the sides in the league… today. Amazing prospect.
Russells or Martins I’d rather have as manager:
Ricky Martin
Russell Howard
Martin Kemp
Doc Martin
Johnny Russell
Ricky Martin
Martin Freeman
Martin Luther King
Russell Hobbs
Russell from Up
Martin Short
Steve Martin
Kurt Russell
Martin Tyler
Martin Goodman
Marty McFly
Mark Rhydderch-Roberts retired as an investment banker at 49 and as chairman of Glamorgan CCC has overseen a generational transformation.
He was headhunted to be WRU chair but was dismissed out of hand as he refused to rubber-stamp the existing vision.
