Hey @OfficialGHSA, you absolutely HAVE to mandate that Varsity baseball must remain -3. 9th/JV can use the updated weight drops, but there’s no reason VARSITY players should be able to use a -6. Guaranteed to be a safety issue across the board, but ESPECIALLY at Varsity level.

Another aspect to the new bat weight rules is this...I highly doubt the summer circuit is going to move away from wood bats in the bigger events. So if your kid is swinging -6 metal all spring, he's going to be swinging under water in the summer/fall. Just a non-sensical decision. Players should really think about staying with -3 bats if they can. Just my opinion.
