The benefit of ultra low dose response adapted RT extends beyond #lymphoma to #myeloma! 4 Gy in ph2 trial showed pain response in 2/3 at 4 wks & 86% at 8 wks, 19% required higher dose, 7% gr1/2 toxicity. Congrats to @l_ballas & @ILROGTeam #ASTRO26

I’m not biased @DrEmmaHolliday & I agree it was our best didactic week of the year.I’m incredibly grateful to our brave patients that spent the morning w/us sharing their experiences. How selfless-to be vulnerable so you can help us become better oncologists.We need more of this.
This week in rad onc resident didactics, we celebrated Anal Cancer Awareness Day (March 21st) by learning how to take better care of patients with anal cancer.
Tuesday we reviewed historic and new trials trying to personalize treatment.

@PrajnanDasMD joined us to discuss the work up, treatment, follow up and toxicity management for difficult cases.
Today 3 survivors of anal cancer shared their stories, spoke on toxicity from the patient perspective and gave invaluable advice.
We also learned humor is a very helpful coping mechanism for many patients. One survivor even brought a box of anus shaped chocolates for one lucky resident to take home
I may be biased- but I think it was our best week of didactics of the year. 💜💚
