Every great story has a next episode. For the #IndiaNewZealandFTA, that episode is implementation. Limited awareness, compliance challenges, and low utilisation have often prevented Indian businesses, particularly #MSMEs, from fully realising the benefits of existing FTAs. Could the #IndiaNZFTA be different? In our latest #CRFExpertColumn, Dr Rupa Dutta and Aditi Sharma examine what sets this agreement apart, the opportunities it unlocks, and why its true success will depend on effective implementation and industry uptake. #RoundtableDiscussion Can India work with competing powers without compromising its own interests? At the CRF-SIS roundtable, “Between Autonomy and Alignment”, the discussion went beyond choosing sides to examine what strategic autonomy really demands: independent judgment, economic strength, technological capability and the freedom to choose partnerships on India's own terms. @sisjnu_official | @aparnaray_ifs | @AmbBhaswati1 | @priyadarshi_crf | @MEAIndia | @TalukdarIndrani #StrategicAutonomy #IndianForeignPolicy #ChintanResearchFoundation

India and the European Union face a similar set of challenges in today’s complex geopolitics. Increasingly, many of the solutions are also on the same path. Intersecting #EnergyTransition with #geoeconomics is a priority for #India and the #EuropeanUnion. In a discussion with Jean-Eric Paquet, @EUAmbIndia, and members of the European Delegation to India, the CRF President and team discussed how the two regions can further strengthen cooperation to address priorities in #Energy and #EconomicSecurity, #Sovereignty, and #Autonomy. A few key themes stood out during the discussion: - De-risking critical mineral supply chains and strategic cooperation - Moving towards a deeper integration for #EUFTA implementation - Prioritising energy, national and energy security through trilateral and minilateral partnerships Ultimately, the next phase of #IndiaEU cooperation will depend on translating shared strategic interests into tangible outcomes through investments, technology partnerships, and coordinated policy action. @EU_in_India | @priyadarshi_crf | @debajitpalit #ChintanResearchFoundation

#TheDilliDialogue2026 | Day 2 Youth Conference Updates From ambitious ideas for India’s future to practical policy solutions, Day 2 of #TheDilliDialogue brought young researchers, policymakers and practitioners together to explore how evidence and fresh perspectives can shape public policy. The day opened with the inaugural address by Dr Guriqbal Jaiya, Chairperson, Vidya Vichari Trust, followed by a fireside chat featuring Shri @PiyushGoyal, Hon’ble Minister of Commerce and Industry, GOI, in conversation with Mr @LuisMirandaDots, Chairperson and Co-Founder, @ispp_edu, and Mr @priyadarshi_crf, President, @ChintanResearch. The conversation explored India’s economic ambitions, #SelfReliance, #GlobalTrade, technology and the opportunities ahead for its young people. The programme also featured a special address by Dr @ShamikaRavi, Member, Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister, on India’s development trajectory and the importance of looking beyond headline indicators to understand change on the ground. Across four policy tracks, selected proposals by emerging young policy thinkers were presented and discussed: - Economy and Trade: Strengthening #MSME competitiveness through AI adoption and shared compliance infrastructure. - Urban Transition and Mobility: Exploring how small cities and regional clusters can drive economic growth through planned urbanisation. - Climate Change and Energy Transition: Addressing rooftop solar adoption, context-specific environmental behaviour and water conservation. - Public Health and Universal Health Assurance: Examining policy solutions for resilient medicine supply chains, equitable access to diagnostics and healthcare regulation. The discussions brought research into conversation with implementation, examining proposals against institutional realities, financing needs and the challenges of scaling solutions across India. With closing remarks by Dr Shubhashis Gangopadhyay, Founding Dean, ISPP, Day 2 reinforced the central idea behind #DilliDialogue: bridging the gap between policy and praxis by creating space for young voices to contribute to the questions shaping India’s future. Co-organised with @ispp_edu, #TheDilliDialogue2026 brought ideas, evidence, and diverse perspectives into conversation to advance more responsive, actionable #PublicPolicy. Here's a look back at the #YouthConference.
