Today we commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the attacks of September 11th. We remember those lost in the tragedies and we recognize the commitment of the brave DC first responders who ran towards the danger that day.
On this day, we remember six members of the DCPS family we lost 25 years ago: students Asia Cottom, Bernard Brown, and Rodney Dickens, and teachers Hilda Taylor, James Debeuneure, and Sarah Clark.

We had a lovely day at the @BuildingMuseum exhibit The Playground! Young people and those who are young at heart should come check it out before it’s gone on August 30th!
Big news! Schools Without Walls just ranked #5 out of 27,000 high schools in the US.
We’re proud of the progress happening across DC Public Schools, and a very special shout-out to our Walls Penguins. 🐧
What a great way to head into the new school year. usnews.com/education/best-hi…

Woah! A bit offhand but it sounds like @ChmnMendelson also just said on The Politics Hour that he plans to revive the council's education committee.
He's kept education under his Committee of the Whole for years, much to the chagrin of advocates, so this would be a big shift.
Congratulations to the young people who graduated from the Maya Angelou Academies today! 🎓 It's meaningful that these students, who've managed to make some mistakes, are taking an important step to turn their lives around.
