49ers OL coach Chris Foerster on draft pick Enrique Cruz Jr.
“He is to me a starter at some point in this league. He’s a starting talent and he was sitting there in the 5th round.”
Chris went to his private workout prior to the draft and came away extremely impressed with what he saw in the offensive lineman

.@KU_Football offensive tackle Enrique Cruz Jr. was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the fifth round, pick 179, as Kansas had an offensive lineman drafted in each of the last three NFL Drafts, which is the KU longest streak since 1971-73.
2026 – Enrique Cruz Jr. (R5, P179), San Francisco 49ers
2025 – Bryce Cabeldue (R6, P192), Seattle Seahawks
2024 – Dominick Puni (R3, P86), San Francisco 49ers

Five offensive linemen reached at least 20.3 mph during the 40-yard dash, led by Kansas tackle Enrique Cruz with a max speed of 20.69 mph.
At the 2025 combine, just one OL prospect (Jared Wilson, 21.04 mph) exceeded 20.3.
