Let me thank all the fans who showed up for an EXHIBITION game yesterday! The students brought an unbelievable energy to the building! We have a lot of work to do but proud of how hard the guys played yesterday. Time to get ready for our game against Memphis! Tickets still available, we need that same energy at 7pm Wednesday night!

Jon Perry and his wife Chelsea brought their kids to Primetime at the Palace. It ended up being one of the last things Jon did before he passed after a battle with ALS. Our team was able to meet him that night and pray over him and his family. We wanted to make sure we had his wife and kids here for our exhibition game.

I just found out Coach Dale Brown passed away. He has treated me like family all the way back to 1992/93 with my UMASS team. We have stayed in touch religiously over the years. He was at just about every LSU game that I coached in that building including going to dinner the night before the game. Not only a great basketball coach but a good man. May he rest in peace

Don’t know what we are as a team but I like that we are improving. Love the fact that we get to play in front of over 15,000 fans in an exhibition game. If you haven’t gotten your ticket there is still time to get one for Saturdays game vs Gonzaga!

We had a few guys yesterday let go of the rope in every way during practice. I told the guys if you play that bad you have to come stay at my house. A couple of them did have to come stay at my house last night. Those guys did practice better today, so my question is did those guys practice better because they stayed at my house or because they didn’t want to stay at my house again?!!?

I did a press conference two days ago. Let me clarify what I said. I’ve always been about the players and what benefits them my entire career. I am GREAT with my guys making money and want them to make even more money and they deserve all the advantages that come along with playing college sports. What did come from this, is more dialogue. Let’s keep that dialogue going. Let’s stabilize college athletics and give it a future.

What a great afternoon at our Women’s Clinic Presented by Blakeman’s Fine Jewelry! The ladies got a chance to meet our staff, hear from Ellen (and meet Lola), learn about our program, and watch practice. Another record year of attendance with over 220 here today! Already looking forward to next year!

Attended the funeral of Savannah Parker this morning. Heartbroken for her family and the family of Olivia Pamungkas. What a powerful showing by the community in showing up to support her family today. We are going to honor both girls Sunday at our women’s clinic with every participant being given a pink bow to wear during our clinic. May we all keep their legacies and memories alive. Thoughts and prayers to the families and loved ones

A quick update for you!!!

I want to again thank the city of Memphis for the sports Hall of Fame honor but I do have to apologize to a dear friend who has done so much for me who I forgot to mention! Lunetha Pryor has been with me since my Memphis days and we have been through so much together! She should have been inducted to the City of Memphis Sports Hall of Fame with me! Let me also apologize to many others I forgot to mention who without their support we couldn’t have done what we did!
