Beating a dead horse I know, but nothing about giving kids a 5th year to play ball flies in the face of these core academic principles of D3. Majority of these same D3 kids we celebrate would be the ones playing!
Everyone sues for everything nowadays...so I am sure you are right.
But Division III student-athletes choose to be part of a division that has different principles.

No one forces them to pick Division III. They choose it because it's the right fit for them.
And they can always transfer up to D1 or D2 (if good enough), where the 5th year exists.

Real recruiting
“You gotta fly to Slovakia right now.”
So @FSUHoops HC @lukeloucks and Jim Moran flew 18.5 hours to meet a recruit’s mom.
Two six-five dudes wedged into economy middle seats. Upon landing: 10:30 AM wine, dinner, speakeasies.
The moment they got back, a phone call... 👀

The majority of revenue from the #OkState hockey game in Boone Pickens Stadium will be donated to the football program.
Why? Alignment of the school.
“Every dollar counts when it comes to football these days. We’re just trying to make a little dent in that.”

🏒 BEDLAM ON ICE — WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW!

Michael Mann, OSU Hockey Chairman of the Board, met with the media today and went through all of the details of the "Bedlam on Ice" hockey match being hosted at Boone Pickens Stadium on January 30th.
Tickets went on sale today, and, TBH, I expect them to go fast.
The event has been paid for at the Donor level, and the profit is going to go to Dr. Hess's mental health program and Cowboy Football.
Great event that I think OSU fans will enjoy & appreciate!

And Chairman of the Board Michael Mann!!
Event will cost $1.5 million, including $1 million to build the rink, but OSU will not incur any expenses. The project was completed under the leadership of OSU hockey CEO Colleen Harvey. Supporters are hoping to transition OSU’s program to Division I by 2029, sources said

Leaders must develop a thick skin. You’re going to make others mad at times & even hurt feelings, but true leadership means you can’t worry about being criticized, blamed, talked about, rebuffed, or scorned. Your job is to keep doing the very best you can for the people you lead.
