Linebackers: Your tackling skills don’t matter if you can’t get off a block. Your block destruction skills don’t matter if you can’t move in the box. Your movement skills don’t matter if you can’t read the play. Become a complete player.

A Linebacker READ isn’t just about telling players where to look. It’s also about telling them what they’ll see, and how they should react.

We coach in the only sport where players and their agents believe themselves or clients will get a full ride and potential NIL from any level DI, DII, DIII or NAIA with only practice tape.

Linebackers: Everything changes when you start using your EYES before your FEET.

If you’re an undersized Linebacker, read this: 1. Become a student of the game. Study film, break down your opponents, learn everything there is to know about the position. 2. Use your speed. Whenever possible, choose speed over power. 3. Master the fundamentals. When it’s time to take on a blocker, or tackle a bigger Running Back, you’ll need to use great technique. 4. Perform. Let’s be honest, if you’re an undersized Linebacker, there’s no room for error. Your job is to leave NO DOUBT that you should be playing. 5. Be relentless. Relentless in your preparation, relentless in your physicality, relentless in your pursuit. You must WILL yourself to greatness. 6. Don’t listen to the critics. Some of the greatest Linebackers of all time were undersized. Keep working.

Yesterday during INDY we worked on a “Dip and Rip” technique. Then, during our SCRIMMAGE period, one of our Linebackers used the technique perfectly. Man I love coaching.

If you’re working with HS, college, or pro athletes, the only way forward is honesty. Don’t sell pipe dreams. Tell them where they are—consistently. Then ask them to show you, through their work, where they want to go.

Message to recruits: If a “coach” has to throw shade or hate on another program to boost theirs, they likely aren’t that good. Also indicates they may not be all that good of a coach… If it were all that good why speak on someone else?!
