Would you go for two with the game on the line? Walden Grove HC Corey Noble made that call, putting the outcome in the hands of his players. I sat down with Coach Noble to discuss that decision, his approach to developing roster depth, and why shorter, more intentional practices have helped keep his players fresh and engaged. We also talked about maximizing scout-team reps and creating a competitive environment without sacrificing the fun of playing football. Congratulations @CoachNobleWGHS! National Coach of the Week is presented by @modernFB. Listen here: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…

One of the advantages of teaching through film is that players can go back and hear the message again. We've been using Just Play to share corrections and walk players through what we're seeing on film. They can revisit those teaching points whenever they need to, rather than relying on one explanation in a meeting. The teaching doesn't have to end when the meeting does.

Sometimes the biggest adjustment isn't a new scheme. It's getting back to who you are. Coach @NighbertChad explains how his team responded after letting emotions take over in a tough loss. Instead of overhauling practice, they returned to their process and addressed specific areas, including special teams. @modernFB helps coaches evaluate performance and use self-scout reports to identify where the team needs to improve.

The goal was never to install more. It's to teach better. I've been focused on creating a process where our players can find the personnel, coverage, adjustments, videos, and quizzes they need in one place through @justplayfb. It's not about giving them more information. It's about helping them understand it, retain it, and execute it.

The bigger the stage, the more important it is to keep things simple. @CoachStreiff shares how Cathedral prepares players for championship moments by reminding them that the game doesn't change just because the venue gets bigger. They've been taught what to do. Trust the work, play freely, and have fun. That's when players can perform at their best.

After Auburn's 27-24 win over No. 1 Georgia, Alex Golesh wasn't celebrating for long. His focus was already back on fundamentals, technique, and process. That approach isn't new. In a 2024 Culture OS conversation with Rob Pomazak, @CoachGolesh explained why he builds programs around standards rather than results, how he holds his staff accountable, and why the process must be evaluated regardless of the scoreboard. We revisited that conversation and the coaching philosophy behind it in our latest article. Read more: coachandcoordinator.com/alex…
